The Rolex Yacht-Master II Ref. 116680 was introduced in 2013 as the stainless steel version of Rolex's most mechanically complex sports watch. Developed specifically for competitive sailing, the Yacht-Master II features the world's first programmable mechanical regatta countdown timer, a complication designed to assist crews in timing race starts with precision. Discontinued in 2024, the reference remains one of the most technically ambitious watches ever produced by Rolex.

The 44mm Oystersteel case is paired with a blue Cerachrom bezel featuring Rolex's innovative Ring Command system, which allows the bezel to interact directly with the movement when setting the countdown function. The white dial is accented by blue hands, a red countdown hand, and a highly legible countdown display, creating one of the most distinctive layouts in the Rolex sports watch catalogue. Water resistant to 100 metres and fitted with a solid-link Oyster bracelet and Oysterlock clasp, the Yacht-Master II combines robust construction with everyday wearability.

Powering the watch is the Rolex Calibre 4161, an automatic movement comprised of more than 360 components and featuring approximately 72 hours of power reserve. Developed specifically for the Yacht-Master II, the movement incorporates Rolex's programmable countdown mechanism, flyback functionality, and Ring Command bezel interface, representing one of the most sophisticated calibres the brand has ever produced.

Produced for just over a decade before its discontinuation, the 116680 occupies a unique position within the Rolex collection.
