The Anoma A1 Optical is a distinctive expression of contemporary independent watchmaking, blending sculptural design with traditional Swiss craftsmanship. Designed by Matteo Violet Vianello, the A1 Optical immediately distinguishes itself through its asymmetrical polished stainless steel case, inspired by mid-century modern furniture and natural geometric forms, creating a silhouette unlike any conventional round, tonneau, or rectangular watch currently in production.

This particular example belongs to the original launch production and is numbered No.220 of just 300 pieces, only 150 of which were fitted with this exceptional copper guilloché dial, making it one of the earliest and most desirable executions of the A1 Optical. The dial itself is composed of a complex engraved optical pattern that interacts dramatically with changing light conditions, producing an almost kinetic visual effect across its surface. Combined with the softened triangular case and minimalist handset, Anoma has created a watch that feels equally rooted in horology, architecture, and contemporary art.

Powering the watch is the Swiss automatic Sellita SW100 movement, chosen for its reliability and compact dimensions. This movement allows the unusually shaped case proportions to remain exceptionally slim and refined while delivering dependable everyday performance.

The case is paired with its original leather strap and stainless steel buckle maintaining the understated elegance and sculptural identity of the design while offering excellent wearability on the wrist. This example is also sold with two premium and unworn Delugs straps with stainless steel buckles and an additional Delugs spring-loaded deployant clasp.

With demand for this model reportedly exceeding initial production many times over, the A1 Optical has rapidly established itself as one of the defining breakout independent releases of recent years, particularly among collectors focused on emerging design-led horology.
